Fichin In the Dark

This isn't a blog about that song. What is it about that song that everybody likes? I don't understand.....

Does the amount of "trach" talk that is used in your everyday lives (i.e. The Duck, comments on blogs, emails) come out to non-trachers? Clairifaction: the Mister and I were eating early dinner with M1 on Sunday and he mentioned how he can say "Ready to Ote?" or just "Ote" to me and I'll know what he means. His point being that if we're somewhere and he's reday to go, it's nicer than saying "I'm ready to get the eff out of here" when other people are around (i.e. family get- togethers) .

Surely I'm not the only wif that can follow your comments?

I have found myself, on more than one occasion, using the word trach at work, and subesquently having a coworker ask what I'm talking aboot.

Why in the world do I let you guys influence me so much?

because you're a woman, and women are by definition weak.

either that, or you need to get some non-duck friends to hang out with (i don't advocate this approach).

ps, that song is just good, easy to sing along with, fun to sing, good song to get drunk and sing, etc.

I have adapted to the lingo, I think it is a generational thing. For instance my dad says that Beans blog is too confusing for his to read. He also cannot understand a single word in a rap song.

Bean's blog is too confusing because it's all about Lost and nobody watches that trach.

i'm in the same boat. i've noticed myself using duck-speak quite a bit lately. i'm sure non-ducks think i'm a wierd but i figure it's much better than using curse words.

I was thinking about the spread of duck just the other night. It's not just wives who pick up this lingo, but also siblings, nephews, friends twice removed, etc. It's really quite fascinating and disturbing. Luckily I am able to keep duck out of my speech when I am in environments not appropriate for it.

Trach seems to be our most contagious creation yet. I recently learned that the entire AOL quality control office in Cbus Ohio uses "trach" extensively. It's like a virus.
